Chris Marek, MD - Resume
Christopher A. Marek, MD is a plastic surgeon in private practice in Danville, Kentucky with specialized interest in reconstructive plastic surgery, cosmetic surgery, pediatric plastic surgery, and the treatment of skin cancer. Dr. Marek has completed an accredited Integrated Plastic Surgery Residency program at the University of Kentucky Medical Center with Dr.Vasconez. He is licensed by the state of Kentucky and has been in private practice since 2004.
Dr. Marek is a native of Virginia. He graduated with honors from The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia where he majored in biology. Dr. Marek received his medical degree in 1998 from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, Virginia. While receiving his medical degree, Dr. Marek was awarded the Larry S. Nichter Award for Plastic Surgery Research for his work with tissue adhesives.
Dr. Marek completed a six year integrated residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. He was accepted into one of the few integrated plastic surgery residencies in the country, and received training in general surgery as well as plastic surgery. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, South Eastern Society of Plastic Surgeons, Lexington Medical Society, Boyle County Medical Society, and the Kentucky Society of Plastic Surgeons. He has published articles in peer reviewed journals and presented his research work at national surgical meetings.
Dr. Marek is affiliated with Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital, St. Joseph Hospital, Samaritan Hospital, St. Joseph East Hospital, Central Baptist Hospital Samaritan Hospital and Health South Surgery Center. Medical Missions, to serve the uninsured or underpriviledged, are an important part of his life and practice. These include Medical Mission Ecuador and Surgery on Sunday. He resides in Lexington with his wife, Nykhole and their son. In addition to his Plastic Surgery Practice, he is an accomplished sculptor/artist and musician.
Nikki Ohler, RN
Nikki Ohler is 25, a native of Frankfort and the proud mother of Madison, 6. Nikki earned her nursing degree from Kentucky State University in 2004 and worked at Heritage Hall nursing home prior to joining the Renu Medspa team.
Nikki has advanced certifications from Palomar Laser systems, Botox treatments through advanced aesthetics, microdermabrasion and chemical peels from Therapon skin systems.
Nikki is also a very talented and trained make-up consultant with Franche mineral make-up line. She is eager to help develop a treatment plan using the most advanced treatments that can benefit each client and on a very individualized basis.

Susan Payton, ARNP
Susan Payton is a Board certified Family Nurse Practitioner who works in multiple capacities. In addition to owning Renu medspa, she serves as the attending practitioner for patients in Bradford Square and Golden Living nursing facilities with Dr. James Quarles as her collaborating physician.
Susan’s interest in aesthetic medicine started in 2003 while attending a skin care conference that eventually set the framework for her advanced training. Susan saw a need in the Frankfort community for advanced aesthetic treatments and decided to open a spa in her hometown.
On November 1, 2006 her wishes became reality with the doors of Renu Medspa opened in Prevention Park.
Susan is happily married with two daughters: Aly (7) and Kaylee (5) and step-daughter Ashley (19). In her spare time she enjoys reading, boating and raising/breeding English Mastiffs.
Susan has advance training with Botox and dermal filler treatments, as well as all other product lines that she has made available in her spa.
